These corporations clash in alien landscapes in order to compete for resource-rich sectors. You are one of many para-military engineers hired by SkrapTek™ tasked with defending their sectors against other corporations. Go forth and defend the grid!

Instructions:

Grid Guardians is a tower-defense game. The enemies will come in waves of greater and greater numbers!

Set up MINING NODES to fund the purchase of towers as well as their upgrades. POWER NODES will also need to be set up in order to power the towers. Ensure that you maintain your UPKEEP within the limits of your POWER SUPPLY - failing to do so will result in your towers attacking slowly or worse, stopping functioning altogether! You can POWER DOWN towers in an emergency in case your POWER NODES are destroyed.

NODES auto-REPAIR after every wave.

BUILD PHASE allows the building of TOWERS and NODES. TOWERS can also be SOLD, UPGRADED, or POWERED DOWN during this phase.

ASSAULT PHASE only allows the SELLING, UPGRADING, or POWERING DOWN of towers.

RED ENEMIES are ground enemies that follow lanes and attack POWER NODES. GREEN ENEMIES are flying enemies that fly in specific paths to attack MINING NODES.

Towers:

B4-L1-sT4 Autocannon - Ground targets only. Large bore, full-auto, plasma cannon. Good for tougher enemies.

Tr-1PL3 SAM Site - Air targets only. Explosive Surface-to-Air Missile system that can take out swarms of flying enemies.

BG-Z4Pr Tesla Coil - [BUGGED! Don't use!] Experimental air and ground targeting hybrid tower that can a hit a limited amount of enemies. Good all rounder for intersections of air and ground enemy lanes

SH-4K3r Earthquake Tower - Ground targets only. A large shockwave generator. Originally used for mining, it has now been re-purposed for striking hordes of ground targets.

Actually a pretty fun tower defense game. The music's nice, and the gameplay solid.

One thing I definitely think would be good to include in the game, instead of just the description, would be a visual tutorial of how the game is played, and what each tower/building does. Helps give new players an easier time figuring out how the game is played. You could even make sure that the tutorial is skippable, so that new players have a tutorial, and more experienced players could skip straight into the gameplay.

Other than that suggestion, well done! This game definitely seems well put together.

Hey thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed the game! Yeah we did use Suno AI for the music but we plan on making our own soundtrack when we update the game again in the future (hopefully). Our idea for the game was combining RTS and Tower Defense with a focus on resource management. Definitely could use a tutorial and more fleshed out mechanics and levels.

If you're still interested you can check the game out again in the future, since this is one we did want to revisit outside of the game jam.

Nice game. I like the sound track and how smooth everything feels.

The game might have a bug (or maybe I don't fully understand the mechanic). Some turrets don't fire, even though enemies are in range. And one quality of life suggest: Keep the order of green and blue numbers always the same. Mixing their positions makes it hard for guys like me to figure out what is what.

Thanks for playing! No yeah, there are still quite a few bugs especially with the tesla coil. The turrets not firing might have to do with the upkeep mechanics, if your blue number reaches over a certain percentage over the current maximum it stops all the towers from attacking, so you need to power down some towers to get things running again.

That's a good suggestion, I didn't realize that I jumbled up the order for the prices in the UI. Thanks.
